Washington as the first president

Washington was recently elected as the first president. At first he didn't want to be due to the fact he could become like King George. I wanted him to become our country's first leader due to his role in the American Revolution. He was a good general that seceded in his task. Back when I was under his command in multiple battles during the revolution, I felt his decisions were very judicial and moral. Washington shaped the Executive Branch early in his term. He made a cabinet which was a group of advisers. I knew him well back in the day and wanted to be on his cabinet. That is beside the point, but Washington was a strong, first president for the United States.

America was still a fairly weak new nation. A lot of people still had separate thoughts and decisions on what to do and how to act. I personally believed that if people were not united soon, the newly formed states could crumble. That's where Washington came in. At the time there was a war going on between France and England. He told the American people to stay out of foreign affairs. If this did not happen growth could be hindered or a possible split in the country. His advice on neutrality was followed, but he retired after 2 terms. At this point there were 2 new party's. They were the Federalist and the Democratic-Republicans. This marked a political split between the Americans, but there was still a need for Washington when he died on December 14. 1799.

You stated that George Washington was elected the first president of the United States. Was there a certain reason why the citizens of the U.S. wanted George Washington to become president? In other words was there another reason or purpose why the citizens chose Washington other than him begin U.S. general?

He was a laid back guy who went back to farming. Washington was also responsible and the people trusted him.

Your article was very informative. You stated many historical facts. Did George Washington do more than just lead this country; What might he have done that was just unique to George Washington? You did a really good job with your article.
